Psychotherapy To Help Eating Disorders- New and Improved!!

Posted under Uncategorized by Travis on Tuesday 16 December 2008 at 11:14 AM

Medical News Today has an article on a new form of psychotherapy that researchers have shown to be highly effective with multiple forms of eating problems.  The new therapy is called CBT-E (short for enhanced cognitive-behavioral therapy).  Sounds good, right?

The problem is that nowhere in the article does it discuss exactly why it is “enhanced”.  They just talk about how it is much better.  Reminds me of the detergent commercials where they say their product is “new and improved”, but don’t really state how (usually because it isn’t).  If someone out there knows, enlighten me.

Personally, I think it was effective because each participant got 20 sessions of therapy, which is a far cry from what most people get.
