Counseling and Coaching are very similar in that clients are seeking to change or work through something in their lives. Counseling typically involves a problem in which the client and therapist work together to come to a solution to overcome the problem. Coaching, on the other hand , may not involve a problem to overcome, but may be more about performance improvement. A coaching client may be functioning satisfactorily in a given area of his/her life, but is looking for that extra something to make it even better. There can be a lot of crossover between Counseling and Coaching, and professional counselors are trained in both. For this reason, our coaching clients can expect the same professionalism and privilege of confidentiality that our counseling clients appreciate.
